Maybe it's just me, but isn't it wild that I'm sitting down to write (and you're sitting down to read) a list of what's streaming in January 2025? Take away the fact that that is a number that most dystopian movies didn't even reach, and take away the fact that it's shaping up to be an absolutely bonkers year in the news, and you're still left wondering didn't 2024 start ten minutes ago?

Whatever reason you've got for the reason time is speeding up (it's those aliens over Jersey, right?), January is indeed right around the corner, and with it, a host of January streaming premieres. Popverse is all caught up on those so you don't have to be, and if you can spare a couple rapidly-accelerating minutes, we'll tell you what to watch in January 2025.

What's streaming on Netflix in January 2025

Our pals in the UK are starting Netflix's year off with guaranteed laughs, as January sees the platform streaming both the latest Wallace & Gromit movie, Vengeance Most Fowl, and the much-anticipated return of mockumentarian Philomena Cunk in Cunk on Life. If what you're looking for is less funny, more shocking, then Netflix also has you covered with their upcoming Jerry Springer: Fights, Camera, Action, a docuseries exploring one of America's most controversial shows.

Maybe save Wallace & Gromit until after that one, actually. You might need a palette cleanser.

What's streaming on Amazon Prime Video in January 2025

Drama On Call kicks off Amazon Prime Video's January offerings, which will be followed by the third season of fellow drama Harlem and the second season of the likewise-grounded show The Rig, though a release date is not set for the latter. But if real-life drama is what you're after, documentary series Molly-Mae: Behind it All has you covered.

What's streaming on Hulu in January 2025

Top of the list for Hulu thrill-seekers next month is no doubt Paradise, the murder mystery/social commentary starring Sterling K. Brown, James Marsden, and Julianne Nicholson. Brown also produced the series, along with his This is US collaborator Dan Fogelman. And if you prefer your thrillls a little (well, a lot) less grounded, anime The Misfit of Demon King Academy will also be streaming come January 23.

What's streaming on Max in January 2025

A24's A Different Man finds a streaming home this coming month at Max, and if Oscar-contender is your vibe when it comes to movies, then you might want to give it a look. But if you're keeping up with all of Max's DC offerings, the what you're probably most excited about is the return of Harley Quinn, which promises a wild season 5. And if medical dramas scratch that need-to-watch itch for you, then brand new series The Pitt should be on your radar.

What's streaming on Disney+ in January 2025

Yeah, we know, you're all lined up outside the metaphorical streaming theater all webbed-up with anticipation for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. With good cause, too, the animated series chronicling the earliest days of Peter Parker as Marvel's wall-crawler drops January 29. But won't you spare a thought (or a bing session) toward Goosebumps's upcoming Vanishing series, a show that promises to bring both body horror and longer-form frights to younger audiences? What's coming to Apple TV+ in January 2025

Apple TV+ has been proving itself more and more as the streaming world's home for prestige science fiction drama, perhaps best exemplified in the Adam Scott-starring dystopian workplace thriller Severance. After almost a three-year wait, fans are finally getting the chance to plumb its mysteries the coming January. And not for nothing, award winning comedy Mythic Quest is also returning - it may not be science fiction, but it is about the behind-the-scenes of a popular gaming franchise, which we'd say is pretty close.

What's coming to Peacock in January 2025

Severance this, Spider-Man that, yours truly is here to watch Alan Cumming be mean to people in a castle. I guess that's why I'm so excited fro the return of backstabathon The Traitors, Peacock's smash hit reality show that puts stars of the genre in a game of deception and distraction. Maybe the other shows on this list have a bit of that going on too, but do any of them have Alan's style?

I thought not.
