In just 3 weeks, Adolescence is now officially one of the most popular (English language) series on Netflix
Watch out, Squid Game. Netflix's Adolescence may not be reaching your numbers yet, but with the creators reportedly open to a season 2, it just might

Last week, Popverse reported on Adolescence co-creator and star Stephen Graham responding to a question about a possible season 2. "Possibly," said the actor, "let’s see how the figures are." Well, we're getting a good look at the figures now, Stephen, and without putting too fine a point on it: get your scriptwriting program ready. 3 weeks into its release, the series has become one of the most popular English-language shows on Netflix.
The news come from an April 1 post on Deadline. According to said reporting, Adolescence has reached a staggering 96.7M views since its release on March 13, 30.4M of which were recorded just between March 24 and 30. These impressive numbers have earned Adolescence a spot on Netflix's Most Popular English TV list, a spot which it stole from Stranger Things season 3, and a placement that pushes Bridgertin season 2 from the list entirely.
(Watch out, Stephen, the Lady in Silver is coming for you.)
I won't go too deep into why the series is connecting with audiences all over the world, except to say that, in dealing with online radicalization of young men and incel culture, it is as topical as it is chilling. If a second season of the series were to happen, it would continue a story that viewers find very important to watch in our current moment, a story which has even become fuel for real-world political action.
Forgive the pun, but we don't see why Adolescence won't continue to grow.
