Who doesn't love a good political thriller? Netflix certainly got me onboard when they released the original series Bodyguard starring Richard Madden in 2019. With The Night Agent, it's clear that the Netflix political thriller train is stopping anytime soon. When season 1 of the show was released in 2023, it went on to become that year's most-watched series by views, according to Netflix

Now, The Night Agent season 2 will be released on January 23, 2025. Considering that January is generally a pretty slow month at brick-and-mortar movie theaters, you can help pass the darkness and cold by stressing yourself out on purpose with this show. And I'm not judging, part of the appeal of thrillers is that you can get your heart racing without ever having to put yourself in physical danger.

The Night Agent stars Gabriel Basso as FBI agent Peter Sutherland, who uncovers that he is involved in a government conspiracy plot. Basso is joined by Hong Chau, Luciane Buchanan, Amanda Warren, and Arienne Mandi. The show is based off of the book of the same title by Matthew Quirk, in case you want to head down to your library or local bookshop and grab a copy.

The Night Agent season 2 will be released on Netflix on January 23, 2025
