That’s more than 50 projects, with a lot of exciting stuff in the list. (I’m pretty excited by Troll 2, I’ll confess.) However… where’s One Piece season 2 on that list?
The season was officially confirmed in September 2024, with filming underway at the time. Netflix has officially released a list of new cast members — which include David Dastmalchian, Joe Manganiello, and Bridgerton’s Charithra Chandran — and it was expected to be dropping at some point in late 2025, especially after the initial version of the Lego One Piece collaboration press release suggested as such. The current version of the announcement has dropped the “late 2025” language, and yes, people noticed.
While all of this doesn’t definitively mean that we won’t see the second season of the live-action One Piece in 2025 — after all, we already know that decisions regarding release dates at Netflix have yet to be finalized even for shows announced as definitively coming this year — it does mean that fans should be preparing themselves for the possibility that the earliest we’re going to see the return of Iñaki Godoy’s Luffy, Emily Rudd’s Name, or Mackenyu’s Roronoa Zoro is the very end of the year, if that.
Thankfully, there’s always more of the anime and the manga to keep you satisfied in the meantime.
