Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt season 2 release date confirmed, more than a decade after season 1 aired

Nearly 15 years since season one aired, we're finally getting New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt this summer.

We’ve been waiting a long time for Panty & Stocking season two, but it looks like the wait will finally be coming to an end in just a few months. We knew the follow-up to one of the most chaotic seasons of anime we’ve ever seen would be on the way this year, but, thanks to a new trailer featuring two new characters, we know that season two, dubbed New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, will be airing in July 2025.

The release window came at the end of a new teaser trailer for the show, which showcased two new characters in the form of Polyester and Polyurethane. These two male angels come complete with their own pop theme and what appears to be their own transformation sequence. It is pretty clear that they are meant to be foils for the sweets and sex-fuelled duo of Panty and Stocking, though it isn’t clear whether these two figures will be friend or foe to the Anarchy Sisters.

When Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt returns for season two in July 2025, it will be one of the longest gaps between seasons in anime history. The first season of the show aired back in October 2010, which means it will be nearly 15 years between seasons. The reason for the long break is that Gainax, the studio who created the series, fell into financial hardship and the rights to the show were up in the air for many years. Now, studio Trigger, which was formed from several former Gainax employees, has the rights and is finally making good on their promise of more Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt.

Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt season two will air in July 2025.
