If you know anything about Ancient Greek lore, you know that there's plenty of demigods just waiting to make their entrance into the mythology. And now, the creators of Percy Jackson and the Olympians have revealed that they're adding one to their number ahead of the second season. Specifically, they're adding the character of Tyson, who will be played by Daniel Diemer.
The news comes from San Diego Comic Con's Percy Jackson and the Olympians panel (which we brought to you via liveblog).
Fans may recognize Diemer as the jock lead in Netflix's awkward teen romance The Half of It. Dimer's character, Tyson, is Percy's half-brother, who is described in the official Disney+ press realease as "a young Cyclops who grew up all alone on the streets, and finds it difficult to survive in the human world. Shy and awkward, with a heart almost as big as he is, Tyson soon discovers that Poseidon is his father, which means Percy Jackson is his half-brother… and that Tyson may have finally found a home."
Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 doesn't have an official release date as of this writing, but is expected some time in late 2025 or early 2026. IN the meantime, the first season of the mythological madness is streaming on Disney+ right now.
