The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power cast explains what's coming in season 2

Want to know what the denizens of Middle-earth are excited about, ahead of the new season? We’ve got you covered.

Middle-earth is abuzz with excitement over the return of The Lord of Rings: The Rings of Power, which is about to come back for its sophomore season on Prime Video on August 29. But don’t just take our word for it — listen to the people who live there, instead.

Popverse video producer (and Tolkien Superman) Ashley V. Robinson had the chance to talk to the cast of the fantasy show at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, and in the video above, you’ll see her interviewing — deep breath — Morfydd Clark (Galadriel), Charlie Vickers (Halbrand/Sauron), Daniel Weyman (The Stranger), Charles Edwards (Celebrimbor), Benjamin Walker (High King Gil-Galad), Maxim Baldry (Isildur), Megan Richards (Poppy Proudfellow), Ismael Cruz Córdova (Arondir), and Sophia Nomvete (Princess Disa), asking them about their season 2 character arcs, the experience of getting to see the trailer for the new season in a room with 6000 other people (Hall H is big, you guys), and whether or not they were each fitted for rings as soon as they joined the cast.

Oh, and if you’re wondering what everyone is geeking out about, then prepare to get that answered in such a way that Prime Video bosses are sure to be very happy with.

In case getting to see Ashley talk to nine different cast members isn’t enough Rings of Power for you, don’t worry; we’ve also got explainers about the rings, speculation about upcoming new characters, and far more about the new season for you to enjoy… and, of course, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2 begins August 29 on Prime Video.

Whether you're Shirefolk, Elven, Dwarven, or something else, there's a good reason to love Lord of the Rings. We do! With that in mind, we have a dragon's horde of goodies for you from a Lord of the Rings reading guide, a Lord of the Rings watch guide, details on the upcoming animated film Lord of the Rings: The War of Rohirrim, a full the Lord of the Rings reunion panel you can watch, how the OG Hobbit actors stay in touch every day on a groupchat, and the true message of the Lord of the Rings film trilogy, according to Gimli himself - John Rhys-Davies.
