Roswell’s Majandra Delfino stopped reading the books when she found out Michael and Maria got together

Roswell’s Majandra Delfino was not a fan of the Michael and Maria pairing (but she could be joking)

Before Roswell was a television drama, it was a series of young adult novels. Roswell High was a ten-book series written by Melina Metz, which served as the foundation for the WB television series.

When she was cast as Maria DeLuca, Majandra Delfino prepared for the role by reading the series. “I thought the normal thing to do was read the books,” Delfino says during the Roswell reunion panel from Seattle's ECCC 2025.

“I read up until it said that Michael and Maria got together and had a fit. That was the only prep I did, and then I learned my lines,” Delfino continues.

You can watch the full panel here, filmed on the Main Stage powered by Xfinity here:

Is Delfino against the Michael/Maria pairing? It’s also possible that she was giving her Michael Guerin actor Brendan Fehr a hard time by teasing him. Fehr and Delfino are currently co-hosting a Roswell recap podcast called The Ex-Files. Now that she’s watching the series, maybe it’s the perfect opportunity to give the books another try.

You can watch Out of this World: A Roswell Cast Reunion from ECCC 2025's Main Stage powered by Xfinity for yourself as part of Popverse's all-encompasing coverage of Emerald City Comic Con 2025. Be there from anywhere.

Here's how to watch Roswell (and Roswell, New Mexico) TV series in order.
