There's just something about small-town drama that makes for entertaining television. If you've been in the mood for something English, witchy, and full of small-town drama, then look no further than Sanctuary: A Witch's Tale. The show was originally released in 2023, but it's making its series debut on AMC now.
Sanctuary: A Witch's Tale will have its series premiere on AMC on January 5, 2025 at 10 PM ET. New episodes of the show will air weekly. The show tells the story of a town in England called Sanctuary, which has been a safe haven for witches for centuries. However, when a local teenage rugby player is found dead, the community of Sanctuary quickly turns on its witches. You can take a look at a trailer for the show below.
The show stars Elaine Cassidy as a witch named Sarah Fenn. Sarah's best friend, Abigail (Amy de Bhrun), is the mother of the boy who was found dead, setting the two women against each other. Hazel Doupe plays Sarah's daughter, Harper. You might recognize Doupe if you've seen the Irish horror film, You Are Not My Mother, which she was absolutely superb in.
According to AMC Networks, Sanctuary: A Witch's Tale is getting a second season that will be released sometime in 2025. A specific release date for season 2 is not known at this time, but stay in the loop with us at Popverse for when details do drop.
