Just like the New York City housing market itself, the real estate brokers of Douglas Elliman are full of stress and drama on Netflix's Selling the City

If you grew up in New York City, the Douglas Elliman name is immediately familiar, even if you're not exactly sure what it's supposed to represent. Well, folks, Douglas Elliman is a high-end real estate brokerage firm, and Netflix's upcoming reality series, Selling the City, is here to give us all the details on what it's like to be an agent there. Based on the footage seen in the trailer for the show, it looks pretty dramatic.
Selling the City is the latest entry in Netflix's Selling franchise, which focuses on the lives of luxury real estate brokers. The series is set to hit the streamer on January 3, 2025. The show will follow an agent at Douglas Elliman named Eleonora Srugo as she assembles a team of other agents to sell expensive property in New York City.
The Selling franchise began with Selling Sunset, a series about agents at the Oppenheim Group in the Los Angeles and San Diego areas. Selling Sunset has spun off into other shows like Selling Tampa and Selling the OC.
The housing market in New York City is an utter disaster, so it remains to be seen how these Elliman agents function under such circumstances. Selling Sunset ran for three seasons, and Manhattan is riddled with empty high-end residences, so there's likely a lot of material for Selling the City to cover if Netflix decides to order another season of it.
Selling the City releases on Netflix on January 3, 2025.
