What strange times we live in, that a television show produced by Apple would be one of the most critically-acclaimed series of the last couple of years. Considering that season 1 of Severance ended on a thrilling cliffhanger, season 2 of the show directed by Ben Stiller has been highly anticipated. As the saying goes, you can’t rush richness. With a show as high-concept as Severance, this is doubly the case.
Season 2 of Severance is set to begin streaming on Apple TV on January 17, 2025. New episodes of the show will be released every Friday through March 21. If you’ve spent the last couple of years theorizing about what’s really going on in the show, all will hopefully be revealed shortly. And, in case you don’t have Apple TV, but want to check out what all the hype is about, season 1 of Severance will be streaming for free for a limited time on Roku, Deadline reports. You can check out a teaser trailer for Severance season 2 below.
Severance stars Adam Scott as a man working at a mysterious company known as Lumon Industries. In season 1, we saw Scott’s character voluntarily undergo a procedure where his memory was “severed” between his work life and his personal life. Meaning, when he is at work, he has no memory of his personal life, and vice versa. However, as the season wore on, Scott’s character, Mark, began to develop questions about the man he has become and the work that he does.
The show also stars John Turturro, Christopher Walken, Patricia Arquette, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman, and Jen Tullock. Season 1 of the show was nominated for several Emmys, taking home the awards for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series and Outstanding Main Title Design.
