Rejoice, friends: The Simpsons are back this fall! Disney announced at its D23 Expo last weekend that season 35 of The Simpsons will stream October 2 on Disney+. The season will include 18 new episodes, including 4 "exclusive episodes" for Disney+ subscribers. And, Disney+ will also drop a Halloween special short for The Simpsons. It's never been a better time to go back to Springfield.

Part of the four episodes exclusive to Disney+ subscribers consists of a Christmas double episode called 'O C'mon All Ye Faithful' launching December 17. This coincides with the 35th anniversary of The Simpsons' original Christmas special, which feels incredibly surreal to consider the age of. To put it in perspective, the original Simpsons Christmas special episode aired December 17, 1989 - four days after Taylor Swift was born.

The other Disney+ exclusive episodes are titled 'The Past and the Furious' and 'Yellow Planet,' which gives us plenty to work with as we speculate on what will happen this season. Will Matt Groening's show reveal which member of the Simpsons family lives their life a quarter mile at a time? We shall see.

If you've been feeling starved for more Simpsons content, you can watch every season of the show, plus The Simpsons Movie, on Disney+ now. And if you're still in the mood for pop culture juggernauts created in 1989, you can stream the concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, on Disney+ afterwards.
