Everyone loves a good box set, right? As someone who measures the efficacy of cargo pants by whether or not their pockets are big enough to fit a Lord of the Rings: Extended Edition Blu-ray box set inside, I take this matter rather seriously. Box sets are great because, obviously, you get to have physical copies of your beloved media, in addition to cool artwork and thoughtful packaging. But more than that, box sets really come in handy when you're indoctrinating your loved ones into your favorite movie and television series. Oh, you're thinking of getting into Mr. Robot? Let me leave my Blu-ray box set tastefully perched on a shelf in your media cabinet, like some kind of cinematic monkey's paw. Want to get into the Zatoichi films? Please catch the box set from the Criterion Collection that I've already launched in your direction.
The good folks at Paramount understood the assignment when they created the Star Trek: The Picard Legacy Collection. The set is now available at 43% off for $139.49 (down from $244.99) on Amazon for Black Friday. Across 54 Blu-ray discs, this box set collects all of Jean-Luc Picard's adventures with Starfleet. It has seasons 1-7 of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the 4 Star Trek: The Next Generation films, and all the seasons of the Picard streaming series. It's also got playing cards, Chateau Picard drink coasters, magnets, and a book of Picard's greatest quotes. If you've got a Patrick Stewart or Trek fan in your life, then look no further.
In addition to all of Picard's appearances on Trek, the set also includes over 35 hours of special features. The total run time of the box set is 167 hours, which would take you nearly 7 days of continuous watching to get through it all. But please don't try doing that, sleep is important and necessary for enjoying Star Trek.
Space may be the final frontier, but there's no end to Popverse's love of the Star Trek universe. Hop aboard the starship Enterprise with our Star Trek watch order, explore strange new worlds with our upcoming Star Trek TV shows and movies list, seek out the new life of the franchise, and boldly go where no Star Trek film has ever gone before - with Quentin Tarantino?
