Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ Anson Mount keeps pitching a Captain Pike cookbook, and now he wants your help to make it happen

Do you want a Captain Pike cookbook? So does Anson Mount, and he says if enough fans demand it, then it might happen

If you’re on the Enterprise and you can’t find Captain Pike on the bridge, then chances are he’s in the kitchen. As you watch Star Trek: Strange New World, you’ll notice a lot of scenes where Captain Pike is cooking. It turns out his chef skills are second only to his skills as a starship captain. If only we could get a cookbook to prove it.

“I don’t really cook a lot, much to my wife’s chagrin,” Pike actor Anson Mount says during the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds panel at Emerald City Comic Con. “When I do, I make a pretty mean almond crusted chicken breast over candied pear slices covered with a brick of cheese. That’s my favorite dish to cook.”

Watch now the 'Charting New Frontiers: The cast of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' panel live from the Emerald City Comic Con 2025 Main Stage powered by Xfinity:

Mount was asked if we’ll ever see a Captain Pike cookbook. It turns out, he’s been pitching this for years. “I have been saying to the people in the decision making department, I’ve been saying for years, ‘We should do a cookbook.’ And they say, ‘Yeah, we should talk about that,’ and then I never hear anything.”

“Would you do me a favor? Post about it. Say you want a Captain Pike cookbook and they’ll do it. They’re listening. They’ll do it if you say you want it.”

Folks, consider this a direct order from Captain Pike himself. Make some (respectful) noise online and maybe one day we’ll finally get our Captain Pike cookbook.

In the meantime, I’m going to fantasize about Mount’s almond crusted chicken breast.

Here's how to watch Star Trek in order: the shows, the movies, the cartoons (in chronological or release order).
