The wait for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season three feels unbearable, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t plenty to stay excited about. While we’re still stuck waiting for a release date, the cast and crew of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds have dropped some vague but very enticing hints about what the new season has in store for fans when it finally arrives in 2025.

When it was Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ turn to share some updates during the Star Trek panel at New York Comic Con 2024, actors Ethan Peck (Spock) and Carol Kane (Pelia) joined showrunners Akiva Goldsman and Henry Alonso Meyers onstage.  The group showed a scene from the first episode of season 3, which sees Captain Pike racing to figure out how to save his captured crew while Gorn ships pound away at the Enterprise. In addition to providing full-on action and suspense, it is a great moment for operations officer Lieutenant Jenna Mitchell. Rong Fu hive, rise!

Panel members were asked to tease the new season in three words. And Meyers and Peck’s answers got people buzzing: “Dancing. Murder. Surprise,” said Meyers. Peck responded, “History. Betrayal. Growth.”

But the wildest tease of the afternoon came earlier on from Kane, who said in the new season “There’s something to do with ancient telephones, ancient Atari, Andy Warhol, and my quarters, which are very interesting.” Smiling, she said, “You’re going to spend some time in there with me,” to cheers from the audience.

The first two seasons of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds are on Paramount+. We're still waiting for confirmation of when season three will be out, but we expect it to come out in 2025.
