Watch out, Hawkins: Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy confirms he is back on set for Stranger Things season 5
We're still waiting for confirmation of how many episodes Levy will direct this season

Some people don’t know how to take time off. You would think that after directing Deadpool & Wolverine, Shawn Levy would take a little time to rest and recuperate his creative energies, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Over the weekend, he confirmed that he was back on set to direct his episodes of Stranger Things season five for Netflix, just a few weeks after his MCU debut became the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time.
It isn’t entirely surprising to see Levy back in Hawkins for the final season of Stranger Things – he has directed two episodes of each of the first four seasons to date and has confirmed that he would be back for season five. However, it does feel like a bit of a whirlwind tour for him to already be back behind the camera. He took to Instagram over the Labor Day weekend to post some very non-descript behind-the-scenes photos, being careful to give nothing away about the tightly guarded plot to season five.
What hasn’t been confirmed is how many episodes of Stranger Things season five Shawn Levy would direct. In previous seasons, he has always helmed the third and fourth episodes of the season. However, that was before his work on Deadpool & Wolverine took up so much of his time. By the time the movie was in cinemas and the press tour was over, Stranger Things season five was already halfway through filming. Will Levy do his usual two episodes or is he going to have to settle for one during the climatic finale to the Netflix hit? We won’t know until it finally comes out sometime in 2025.
As we all collectively wait for Stranger Things season 5, here's the keys to getting ready:
