We called the phone number in the new Stranger Things season 5 teaser, here's what we learned from Netflix

Where is Jane Hopper, and who is looking for her, are the first two questions to ask ahead of the fifth and final season of Netflix's Stranger Things

Someone is looking for Eleven — but it might not be who you think. Ahead of the fifth and final season of Stranger Things, Netflix has released the first key art for the show’s last outing, which teases the first new mystery for the show: what happened to Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven?

The art is a ‘Missing Teen’ poster for Jane Hopper, the name Eleven has taken as the adopted daughter of Jim Hopper (David Harbour). According to the poster, Eleven was “last seen walking on the sidewalk near Hawkins High School where she mysteriously disappeared that afternoon,” with the afternoon in question being June 13, 1986 — which is about three months after the end of season 4. (That season took place across a week or so in late March, 1986 according to the show’s chronology.)

The poster suggests that anyone with information about the disappearance call 765-303-2020 — which is a real number in Indiana, where the show’s set. As of writing, that number seems to be overwhelmed by… let’s call them “leads,” shall we…? For those who do get through, there’s a voicemail that offers more hints about what to expect from the season: Hawkins is revealed to be in lockdown due to an earthquake, with the search for Jane Hopper being a priority for the Hawkins Emergency Task Force.

Oh, and there's perhaps an addition mystery to be uncovered, as the official Stranger Things social media account shared the poster with the caption, "Who's really looking for Jane Hopper?" Wait... so it's not the police? Just who is that number meant to be connected to, in that case...?

It’s unclear whether or not the earthquake in question is the opening of the gates to the Upside Down that took place at the end of the show’s fourth season, or a new incursion that we’ll see happen in the new season. The latter seems more likely, given that it’s months after the end of the previous season, but… well: we’ll have to wait until Stranger Things season 5 debuts on Netflix to find out more. (Including just where Eleven really is.)

Stranger Things will return to Netflix at some unannounced point in 2025.
