Inside the Supernatural cast's private group chat, with Misha Collins

Misha Collins says the Supernatural cast is still tight, and they regularly talk in a group chat

Supernatural was a horror-fantasy drama that ran for 15 seasons. You would think that the cast would have grown tired of one another after 327 episodes, but that’s not the case. Although the show has been off the air for almost 5 years, the cast members are closer than ever. In fact, they have an active group chat.

Speaking to a crowd at CCXP 2024, Supernatural star Misha Collins spoke about the close relationship between the cast members.

“Yes, there are many group chats, and we still see each other all the time. I’ll see Jared [Padalecki], and Jensen [Ackles], and Ruth [Connell], and Rob [Benedict], and Richard [Speight], and Mark Sheppard. I’ll see them all tomorrow. So yeah, we’re close. Too close. I’m sick of them. I need a break.”

Collins attributes their bond to the show’s long run. Collins was a cast member for 12 of the show’s 15 seasons, and during that time he and his co-stars went through a lot together.

“I was a part of the show for 12 years, and during that time we all went through big chapters in our lives. We went through marriages, and having children, and losing loved ones, and going through divorce. There were so many different chapters in our lives, and we got to know one another really well, and in a way the family that you saw on screen, in part it felt authentic because we were a family off-camera as well. And we still are. We will talk to each other about the hard things in each other’s lives, and we’ll celebrate the successes in one another’s lives.”

Now if Misha Collins can just share some screenshots from the group chat, that would be great. I want to know if Jensen uses more emojis than Jared.
