The highly-anticipated adaptation of Robert McCammon's scifi horror novel Stinger is almost here - and it's called Teacup. The Peacock exclusive series follows a group of people in the south coming to grips with an apparent alien invasion.
Here at San Diego Comic-Con 2024 at the show's official panel, it was revealed Teacup season 1 will debut October 10 on Peacock, with the plan to release two episodes per week for four weeks - a total of eight 30-minute episodes.
Teacup stars Yvonne Strahovski and Scott Speedman, and is being helmed by Yellowstone veteran Ian McCulloch, with the first two episodes directed by E.L. Katz (The Haunting of Bly Manor). The whole project is being overseen by James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett.
Stinger, first published in 1988, is named for the villain of the story: an alien bounty hunter who arrives in a Texas town looking for its prey, and killing anyone that gets in its way. "After reading Robert McCammon's book Stinger, the entire team at Atomic Monster felt a spark," Wan said about the project in a statement. "The story had all the ingredients for a captivating series and Ian McCulloch had a vision to bring it to life in a fresh way that was both startling and darkly atmospheric, but filled with a rich sense of humanity - often lacking in edgy narratives."
Teacup debuts October 10 on Peacock.
