Stranger Things creators' next project for Netflix includes some pretty impressive names
Stranger Things but with old people seems like a pretty fair assessment of the show so far.

We’re already wondering what life will be like after Stranger Things, but the Duffer Brothers aren’t waiting around. They’ve already got their next project lined up, a supernatural series for Netflix called The Boroughs. It is still in the early stages of development, but the streamer has announced the cast for the series. Turns out, the Duffer Brothers follow-up to Stranger Things has some pretty big names in the cast.
The Duffer Brothers are executive producers on The Boroughs, which follows a group of residents in a rural retirement community who have to fight off a supernatural threat from stealing the remaining time they have left. The formula is surprisingly familiar to any of us who have been obsessing over Stranger Things since it started airing in 2016, but the cast being a group of older residents rather than some plucky kids should make it stand out.
Speaking of The Boroughs' cast, it has some familiar names in there. Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, and Bill Pullman are all ready to save the world from some otherworldly terror that is targeting our senior citizens. The full cast that have been announced so far are:
- Alfred Molina as Sam
- Geena Davis as Renee
- Bill Pullman as Jack
- Alfre Woodard as Judy
- Denis O’Hare as Wally
- Clarke Peters as Art
We currently don't have a release date for The Boroughs, but we don't expect it until well after Stranger Things season five. If we had to guess, it won’t hit Netflix until well into 2026. However, that cast seems well worth waiting for.
As we all collectively wait for Stranger Things season 5, here's the keys to getting ready:

- Getting to know the Stranger Things season 5 cast
- There needs to be more death in Stranger Things, says co-star Gaten Matarazzo
- The Stranger Things time jump between season 4 and 5 has been confirmed by Netflix - and it raises some serious questions
- "They land the plane," David Harbour describes the Stranger Things finale, which he calls its "best episode"
