Love Lies Bleeding star Katy O'Brian thought she was auditioning for Marvel Studios' The Marvels, and was surprised when it turned out to be Ant-Man 3

All Katy O'Brian knew going into her audition for The Mandalorian was that it was "a space show"

Katy O'Brian has appeared in a variety of franchises in Hollywood, and has seen firsthand the lengths that studios will go to keep sensitive details under wraps. Disney especially is notorious for elaborately obfuscating project details, even going as far to give Mark Ruffalo a fake script for Avengers: Endgame. As Katy O'Brian recently revealed at Emerald City Comic Con, this process of deception takes place before production even begins.

In the latest episode of our video interview series, Popversations, hosted by Ashley Victoria Robinson, Katy O'Brian shed some light on how The Mandalorian kept her in the dark during the audition process. The actress said, "The Mandalorian, they just gave me a fake name. I didn't know what it was for. I assumed it was for a space show based off the sides. [The sides] were fake, everything was fake."

O'Brian also elaborated on the audition process for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

"I knew it was for a Marvel project, but I didn't know it was for Ant-Man. I actually thought it was for The Marvels. Because my character was sitting around a campfire and I was talking to four women. And I'm like, 'Oh, it's obviously a bunch of Marvels.' And it was Ant-Man."
