We all love a good whodunit, especially when there's a flamboyant cast of characters at work and at least one very good sweater (Knives Out, anyone?). Netflix and Shondaland have their eye on the White House for their next project, with a new series led by Uzo Aduba called The Residence. In the show, Aduba plays an investigator named Cordelia Cupp who is determined to get to the bottom of a mystery that took place in America's most famous mansion.

The Residence will be released on March 20, 2025 on Netflix. The show was created and written by Paul William Davies, who cut his teeth in Shondaland as a writer and executive producer on Scandal. If you remember, Scandal also prominently featured the White House. But don't expect to see Olivia Pope around, though.

Uzo Aduba is joined by a stellar cast including Randall Park, Giancarlo Esposito, a mystery pop star, and many more. Netflix has revealed that the show will be comedic, thrilling, and even romantic, leaving something for just about anyone.

The premise of the show is that someone has been murdered at a state dinner at the White House. Cordelia Cupp is called to investigate the murder, and she is left to make sense of 157 suspects in the 132-room house. If you ask me, that's way too many rooms for anyone, including the US President, to call home. I know they have staff who take care of these things, but the vacuuming alone? Finding chairs to fill out 132 rooms? No thank you.

The Residence will be released on Netflix on March 20, 2025.
