The Studio release date: Seth Rogen tries to save a movie studio in Apple's upcoming comedy series
In Apple TV's The Studio, Seth Rogen plays a newly-minted Hollywood studio head tasked with striking a balance between commerce and art

Hollywood is stressful. Studio executives feel like they have their finger on the pulse of whatever audiences want to see these days, which is how we end up with movies like Madame Web, Morbius, and Kraven the Hunter. With studio filmmaking, it's all about balancing financial returns with a nebulous sense of "art." And this idea is at the heart of a new series from Apple TV called The Studio.
The Studio is set to release on Apple TV on March 26, 2025. In the show, Seth Rogen plays Matt Remick, a newly appointed head of a fictional Hollywood studio called Continental Studios. Despite the fact that Matt is far enough along in his career to even become the head of a Hollywood studio, he gets a rude awakening to the stresses of corporate demands that hamper the process of trying to make good art. Apple TV has released a trailer for the series, which you can watch below.
Apple spared no expense with The Studio. In the trailer, we can see Martin Scorsese telling someone they are "talentless, spineless" in a withering tone, while Zac Efron says "No one likes you" in Matt's general direction. Captain America himself, Anthony Mackie, yells, "I'm here to save your career," which now needs to be a line in an MCU movie. Despite all of Matt's reservations about leading Continental Studios, Catherine O'Hara's character, Amy, assures him that he'll "make a great studio head."
The Studio is directed by Rogen and Evan Goldberg, both of whom serve as executive producers and writers alongside Alex Gregory. Peter Heck also shares writing duties. The cast of the show includes Olivia Wilde, Rebecca Hall, Ron Howard, Steve Buscemi, Ike Barinholtz, Kathryn Hahn, Chase Sui Wonders, and Bryan Cranston.
The Studio will be released on Apple TV on March 26, 2025.
