When you make a show about one of the most destructive video game franchises in history, it is safe to assume you’re going to cause a little damage along the way. Anthony Mackie can confirm that Twisted Metal season two has not only finished filming but did so while disobeying the orders of several law enforcement officials in Canada. Because that is what making great TV requires sometimes.
While promoting Captain America: Brave New World, Anthony Mackie gave an update on the second season of Peacock’s Twisted Metal. “We just finished it. We shot it in Canada. And we blew up a lotta s**t.”
Mackie was pretty enthusiastic about the blowing stuff up bit. “Every day we blew something up. There were days when the police would come out and be like ‘Ya’ll can’t blow this up.’ And we were waiting for them to leave and we would blow it up anyway. It was insane. We blew people up. We blew up houses. We blew up cars. Just know, some s**t gonna get blown up.”
What better way to cap off his explosion-related reveal than with a pun? “It was a blast.” We bet it was, Anthony.
Twisted Metal season two is coming to Peacock. We don’t know when the second season’s release date is, but we know that it will include more characters from the video games and, importantly, the titular tournament that the games focused on. Anthony Carrigan is joining the cast as Calypso, the creator and host of the Twisted Metal tournament in the series.
