If television in this century can tell us anything, it's that the world of Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes has legs. Case in point: there's a new television show about John Watson on the horizon starring Morris Chestnut. The show, aptly titled Watson, will broadcast on CBS.

Now, Watson is set to launch January 26, 2025 at 10 PM ET and 7 PM PT on CBS, following the AFC Championship Game. If you like your football with a side of mystery, then stick around after the game to catch the first episode of Watson. The show will then move to its regular programming time slot on February 16 at 10 PM ET/PT.

It's worth noting that this is the second show from CBS to pull from the world of Sherlock Holmes. The first was Elementary, starring Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu as Sherlock and a genderbent Watson, respectively. The upcoming Watson show will not be related to Elementary, however, and it takes place a year after the death of Sherlock Holmes.

Thus far, it appears that Watson will center its lead character's medical background, while still having the hallmarks of a detective story. We all love a good medical drama. Until Watson comes out, there's plenty of time to rewatch Elementary.

Watson will premiere January 26, 2025 at 10 PM ET and 7 PM PT on CBS.
