How Helluva Boss’s ‘2 Minutes Notice’ became an anthem for people quitting their jobs

Whether you’re telling off your Starbucks manager or a corporate CEO, Helluva Boss’s ‘2 Minutes Notice’ is the quitting song we all need

The perfect resignation letter exists, and it’s a song on an animated comedy about Hell.

During Emerald City Comic Con’s Welcome to the Chaos: Hazbin Hotel & Helluva Boss with Alex Brightman and Brandon Rogers' on the ECCC 2025 Main Stage powered by Xfinity, voice actors Brandon Rogers and Alex Brightman were asked about their favorite songs from Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. For Brightman, the answer was simple.

2 Minutes Notice. Easy answer,” Brightman says. “So much fun, still fun, still gets stuck in my head, which weirdly feels narcissistic, but it is what it is. It’s a good song, and it’s not my fault that I sang it. I like it.”

Rogers notes that the song has become an anthem for people quitting their jobs. “I think a lot of people related to that song too, because I think a lot of people want to sing that to their bosses.”

“A lot of people have told me that they put it on the morning they were going to quit their job,” Brightman says. “I’ve heard that a lot of different times, that people use it as a way to go, ‘Yeah, fuck this guy. Yeah, I don’t need this. I don’t need Brady running my life. It’s a Starbucks. Fuck you Brady.’”

The next time you get stuck writing your resignation letter, listen to ‘2 Minutes Notice.’ It just might give you the inspiration you’ll need.
