As you read this, we’re in a golden age of superhero TV shows. With this much happening, you might feel as if you need a guide for what’s coming up. Thankfully, you’ve come to the right place.
Superheroes were born out of serial storytelling - comic books, and comic strips - and TV shows have proven to good fit for telling those stories off the printed page. While superhero movies seem like the center of attention, superhero TV shows have been the mainstream public's dish of choice for generations.
From great heights like the '60s Batman show and the '90s Batman: The Animated Series (yes, there's more to superheroes than Batman), television has been a fertile ground for telling stories of individuals with super abilities and/or secret identities.
While the the Arrow-verse on the CW is behind us, superhero TV lives on with streaming services and the occassional terrestial/network show. From Marvel Studios' Disney+ output to DC's new 'Gods and Monsters' line, to even the amazing about of superhero anime on Crunchyroll, there's a lot to watch - and you don't need X-Ray vision to find it.
Popverse has assembled a list of all the current and upcoming superhero TV shows, from Marvel and DC to Netflix, Amazon's Prime Video, and more. Live-action? Yes. Animated? Yes. Anime? That too.
We'll be updating this every time a new superhero TV show is announced and/or a release date is revealed. So stay tuned!
