Not only did Universal Pictures debut new footage from the upcoming Wicked movie this week at CinemaCon, they also gave some of us a close-up look at the costumes - and yes, they're amazing.
Among the things we were able to visit were a dress belonging to Elphaba Thropp (played in the movie by the wonderful Cynthia Erivo), which in itself deserves meticulous attention from the audience -- just like the costumers who made the piece undoubtedly gave it.
Also on display were accoutrement worn by other iconic characters in the much-anticipated reimagining of the Broadway show, including Nessarose Thropp (Marissa Bode) and the Wonderful Wizard of Oz himself, as played by Jeff Goldblum. Take a look for yourself in the gallery below:

The costumes for the Wicked movie are designed by Paul Tazewell, himself coming from a Broadway career with work on Hamilton, The Color Purple, and more. He began working in TV and movies several years ago, including on Steven Spielberg's 2021 West Side Story, and 2019's Harriet.
Wicked, directed by Jon M. Chu from a screenplay by Winnie Holzman, debuts in theaters November 27, 2024.
