Kelsey Grammer's daughter Spencer wants to follow in her father's footsteps as the Simpsons' Sideshow Bob while doing Rick & Morty
Rick and Morty's Spencer Grammer wants to play the daughter of an iconic Simpsons role played by her father (no, it's not Frasier)

Spencer Grammer has been a part of the family business since she appeared (uncredited) as child actor in Cheers, the show that made her father, Kelsey, famous. However, the kinds of roles she plays are pretty different from those of her dad, who was the first person to bring the X-Men's Hank McCoy to live-action cinema and who starred as the titular Frasier Crane in Frasier. Still, there's at least one of her father's characters whose legacy Grammer wouldn't mind building off of. That is, Sideshow Bob.
Speaking at LA Comic Con 2024, during a special Rick and Morty panel with fellow voice actors Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden, the cast was asked by an audience member what other animated shows they'd like to work for. Grammer was quick to give an answer, and happy to expand on it.
"I really want to do The Simpsons," Grammer said, "I want to play like Sideshow Bob's illegitimate daughter."
Apparently this wasn't the first time Grammer has spoken about this idea, as the actor said she'd "just keep saying it until they write the episode." She also had some of the character's details worked out.
"I also take on killing Bart," Grammer expounded, referencing perhaps the most crucial character aspect of the longstanding Simpsons villain her father gave voice to. "I'm like, 'Die, Bart, die! I'm coming for you!'" Grammer went on to compare this possible character to Summer, the role she plays on Rick and Morty, and say that she'd probably "have big crazy red hair."
At this point, Rick voice actor Ian Cardoni jumped in, adding his own layer to the little Sideshow spawn.
"Do you think she would fall in love with Bart?" he asked.
"I could be Bart's girlfriend!" responded Grammer. "It would be a really tragic ending, because I'd still have to try and kill him at the end of the day, because I'd have to avenge my father. [...] If anyone knows anyone at The Simpsons who wants to make that happen, I'm down to do it for scale please. Or for free."
That's one hell of an offer and, if any of those Simpsons execs Grammer mentioned are reading this, we'd urge you to consider it. Then again, perhaps there's an option for Grammer to bring Summer to Springfield before imagining a whole new character for her to play. We've already seen Rick and Morty on the show, after all.
Rick and Morty season 8 heads to Adult Swim some time in 2025. The Simpsons season 35 is streaming on Disney+ now.
